Pipfruit

Tree fruit is produced on approximately 9,000 hectares (22,250 acres) in the Lower Elbe Region. 89% of this area is devoted to apples, with pears constituting 2% of grown fruit.
The consulting services of our four pip fruit advisors covers all phases of fruit growing ranging from selection of site and plants to tree pruning, regulating growth, plant protection, storage and sale. Our advisers moreover have sound knowledge in business management and social economics. They are therefore able to assist with decisions involving investments and development of business operations.
Our advisers require the confidence of business managers and need to be constantly up-to-date on the latest information. Continuous postgraduate training is required as well as regular coordination meetings with colleagues and the experimental departments.
